The Role

This role is a key one within the company, with a mixture of camera assisting with productions on set and office based work.  The Equipment Coordinator & Camera Assistant will have responsibility for the day to day running of the kit room and company vehicles, they will manage the kit calendar, pack equipment for upcoming jobs as well as traveling to shoot to assist.  The role will be a great way to gain a broad range of experience in the film making industry.

 

Office responsibilities

Calendaring of the kit and spotting any potential problems.

Checking kit and making any minor repairs.

Sending damaged kit for repair.

Packing equipment methodically and safely.

Hiring any specialist equipment.

Have knowledge of all project to ensure no kit requirements are overlooked.

Ensure camera settings are correct before a job.

Thinking of new ways to pack equipment, making sure it looks professional and is safe.

Arranging the cleaning and maintenance of vehicles.

 

On-location responsibilities

Ensuring the equipment is unpacked and set up ready for the crew.

Having some knowledge of the camera equipment with a willingness to learn.

Anticipating when certain pieces of equipment are needed by having a knowledge of the shoot schedule.

Assisting with lighting.

A willingness to pick up a camera and shoot if required.

Have a good work ethic and go above and beyond to make the film as good as possible.

The Person

1+ years practical experience in this role or relevant undergraduate degree qualification.

Highly organised with a keen attention to detail.

The ability to work quickly and efficiently as part of a small team on set.

On set experience of camera assisting a bonus.

Must be able to drive and have your own car.

Must live within a 60 minute commute of SG15 6XP.
