The London Olympia International Horse Show holds the Puissance that is sponsored by Porsche GB. Demonstrating the comparisons between Formula One racing and the elite skills it takes to jump in the Puissance, this film shows the importance of preparation, honesty, a focused attitude and positivity.
The London Olympia International Horse Show is held in December each year. The Puissance, an Olympia classic, is also known as the “big red wall”. The Puissance wall is put up higher each round, if a horse knocks the jump down or refuses then they are out; the highest jumping competitor wins. The first ever London Olympia International Horse Show was held in 1907 in the Great Hall, where flamboyant floral decorations adorned the walls and ceilings. Still as magnificent today, competitors love participating at this iconic venue. Being held in December, just before Christmas ensures that there is always an incredible and special atmosphere. The London International Horse show in 2016 saw competitors such as Carl Hester MBE, Olympic Gold Medalist in Dressage, Ben Maher MBE, Team Show-jumping Gold at London 2012 and Scott Brash MBE also Team Show-jumping Gold at London 2012 all participating.
The London International Horse Show Olympia has something for everyone. The Shetland Pony Grand National is an annual highlight and crowd pleaser, while Carriage Driving is an ever fast and furious event, dog agility is always fun and Father Christmas arriving on a horse-drawn sledge is a delight for all. There is also a spectacular shopping village with over 200 exhibitors, including all the big brands as well as ‘not on the high street’ shops. A great place to pick up last minute Christmas treats for yourself or others.
For those in the horse world, attendance at Olympia is a pre-Christmas ritual and a brilliant way to get into the festive spirit. You simply cannot get much better than Olympia.
