Hotel and travel video production is a passion for us here at Kingdom Creative. This film is a documentary about Lake Baikal in Siberia and an example of our ability to produce travel films in extreme environments. This 25 million-year-old lake is more than 400 miles long, 50 miles wide and has a depth of over a mile. It is responsible for more than 20 per cent of the world’s fresh water.
Famed for it’s unique and complex ecosystem, Lake Baikal freezes each year to create a stunning winter environment. Mazda became the first manufacturer to successfully cross this harsh, yet beautiful frozen water with the Mazda CX-5. The location was freezing and isolated, and shooting in this extreme environment had complexities. Despite this, our dedicated production team successfully achieved a high impact visual result.
This unique film looked at Lake Baikal through the eyes of Irina, Deputy Director of the Baikalsky Nature Reserve. A lady who’s passion for the lake and it’s environment delivers a wonderful perspective of the ecology, history and future of this natural spectacle.
