Kingdom Creative are equestrian video production specialists and recently, we teamed up with the extremely successful National Hunt Trainer Dan Skelton. Dan has been surrounded by horses his whole life and has used his passion to create his own training facility in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside.

Dan had a handful of rides as an Amateur Jockey and did, in fact, ride a winner. However, training has always been where his main interests have laid. After a week with Champion National Hunt Trainer, Paul Nicholls, in Somerset to improve his knowledge and skills, he was offered the job as Pupil Assistant which he gladly took up. After a month, he became Assistant Trainer at Manor Farm Stables and spent nine seasons in Ditcheat. During Dan’s time in Somerset, he was fortunate enough to associate with some of the best horses, jockeys, owners and professionals in the industry, experience that he now brings to his own training enterprise.

His first training season was a huge triumph, finishing with 27 winners, including Willow’s Saviour’s victory in the 2013 Ladbroke Hurdle at Ascot. As the years have gone on, his success has continued, along with the increase in the horses’ performance. His now well-established training grounds have seen victories from horses like Willow’s Saviour; Shelford, What A Warrior, Blue Heron and Value at Risk.

Dan is the son of Olympic showjumping gold medalist, Nick Skelton. This gives Dan an exceptional understanding of Show Jumpers and means he brings an added perspective to the training of National Hunt horses – as a result, Dan can really bring out the best in every horse that he trains. He also recognises the importance of having a dedicated, reliable team around you and ensures that there is a diversity among staff at Lodge Hill.
