To promote the release of Aston Martin Racings latest GT race car for the World Endurance Championship, we were tasked with creating an engaging and creative film that was in keeping with the style of previous films we had made for Aston Martin.
We used a ‘point of view’ technique to create a fun introduction and a day in the life of driving the new car from the perspective of WEC champion Marco Sørensen, an Aston Martin Racing factory driver.
To shoot this POV technique we created a specialised helmet with a DSLR camera attached to the front to obtain a higher quality image and have greater control than when using an action cam or GoPro.
We were back at one of our favourite circuits, Algarve International Circuit in Portimao, Portugal to capture all of the action with the car being pushed to its limits on track. This track was an ideal location because the elevation changes and corners look brilliant on camera and really test the cars limits. We used various techniques to capture the car on track at its best, including; trackside filming, aerial filming, on board cameras and tracking.
