Every week, we’ll be sharing the latest industry trends and consumer insights. Why? Our team has been working hard to spot opportunities for our clients to better engage and connect with their audience. So we thought we’d share our thinking. This week’s Kingdom Insights briefing puts the spotlight on the automotive industry.
Google’s latest automotive insight (released yesterday) shows that 2 out of 5 young people are now considering purchasing a car and 12% of all people who didn’t own are now thinking of buying. Why? Because people are finding comfort in being able to get from A to B without contact with others.
19% of car shoppers have said this month that they would buy a vehicle sooner if there was an online option to do so, according to Google’s June trends report, which can be found here.
As dealerships start to re-open, GForces has reported an increase in e-commerce sales of 400%, a trend that’s expected to continue. Kantar has stated that ‘content and experience in e-commerce’ is key.
At-home test drives, digital showrooms and review videos are cited as the top three alternatives to a dealer visit. Now more than ever, brands should invest in interior overviews, walk arounds and compelling video content to support buyer decision making, according to Google.
You might have missed it, but the latest Kantar Automotive and Mobility report was released last week. You can check it out here.
