We’re always drawn to stories rooted in real life. So when National Express asked us to bring their bus pass to life on screen, we didn’t just jump on board – we hit the road running.
Semi-retired and quietly passionate about what the bus pass offers, Kevin uses his to meet friends, explore Birmingham, and capture everyday life through photography. Our creative production team discovered him doing just that, camera in hand, on his favourite bus route.
Kevin’s story beautifully reflects what the bus pass delivers: connection, freedom, and the opportunity to have a real sense of purpose. His enthusiasm and warmth were exactly what the campaign needed.
Filming was about following Kevin at his pace, letting his story unfold naturally. Our aim in video post-production was to keep the tone authentic and the visuals understated. No gimmicks, no distractions, just Kevin, his world and what the bus pass enables him to do.
Working on this project reminded us of the joy in the everyday, and the importance of building trust with the people we film. That rapport is what brings authenticity to screen.
